Portuguese Minister Mariana Vieira da Silva recalled, during a press conference after the Council of Ministers meeting, that these are the same guidelines previously given to the 19 districts of Lisbon which for a few weeks did not register any decrease the number of covid-19 cases, thus imposing stricter measures.
Since the beginning of October, these three counties have already recorded, together, around 2,000 cases, a number well above the number of infections recorded between the months of March and September (1,341).
This Monday, when the Portuguese General Directorate of Health updated the weekly number of cases per municipality, Lousada (259 new cases) and Paços de Ferreira (565) were on the list of ten municipalities with the most weekly increases. higher. The Portuguese government hopes in this way to make the population react and make them understand that it is up to them to decide how to "fight" against the coronavirus epidemic.
