The most expensive apartment in Portugal's history sold for 7.2 million euros in Lisbon
How far will the rise in property prices in Lisbon go? This is a question that we are entitled to ask following the sale of the most expensive real estate in the history of Portugal. It is a rooftop apartment with private pool, gym and spa overlooking the Tagus River. Although the penthouse was acquired for an amount deemed exorbitant, the owner of the penthouse asked to remain anonymous. The owner of Lisbon's most expensive apartment will also enjoy views of Eduardo VII Park or São Jorge Castle from its 260-square meter terrace. Is it too expensive for an apartment in Lisbon? Does it deserve its price of 7.2 million euros? Lisbob, the expatriate's assistant in Portugal, tells you all about this new real estate madness in the Portuguese capital.
More than 13.000 € per square meter
The new building built Rua Castilho has 14 floors, one of which is a terrace with a pool with Lisbon as a backdrop. The top floor has an area of 287 square meters, gives access to a terrace of 260 square meters and offers views of the Eduardo VII Park and Avenida da Liberdade.
However, the most curious is not the huge space available in this three-bedroom apartment, but the price for which it was sold. The leaders of Vanguard Properties raised 7.2 million euros for the top floor of building 203 Rua Castilho, making it the most expensive house ever purchased in Portugal.
In addition to being located in a luxurious setting (Parque Eduardo VII), the building is close to the shopping areas El Corte Inglés and Amoreiras, the Palacio da Justiça and the Lisbon prison, as well as the new University of Lisbon. At the end of Castilho Street is the five-star Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon.
An owner who wishes to remain anonymous
Although the penthouse was purchased for an amount deemed exorbitant, the owner of the property asked to remain anonymous. Although not wanting to be identified, the owner of this house, which began to be built in May 2018, will have a swimming pool, a gym and a spa.
This building is considered a “super premium” property by Vanguard Properties, a company run by Claude Berda, the new owner of Herdade da Comporta. The real estate company has distinguished itself on the Portuguese market by its activity in the field of luxury real estate and the prices of its transactions.
In all, 20 apartments were built in this new building, ranging from two to three bedrooms. At 203 Castilho Street, there are two communal swimming pools, a spa, a solarium, a "lifestyle manager", a digital concierge service and private parking.
And you, what do you think of this price ?
