French tourist stabbed in the back at a McDonald's in Lisbon
A 21-year-old French tourist was stabbed on Tuesday at a Mc Donald’s restaurant in Lisbon while in the queue. The victim had to be assisted at the São José hospital but his life is not in danger. The attacker is on the run and is actively sought by the Portuguese police. The reason for this attack is currently unknown because the victim does not know the culprit of the stab which left a wound of 30 centimeters in the ribs. According to Portuguese police, the attack took place around 6:00 p.m. in the McDonald restaurant located in Rua Rodrigo da Fonseca, in Lisbon, when the victim was waiting to receive his order.
Eyewitness accounts to the PSP say the 21-year-old woman was in the queue when a man, whom she claims to not know, stabbed her in the back, causing a shallow but extensive injury on almost 30 centimeters. The suspect ran away and the authorities are looking for him.
The young Frenchwoman described the attacker as a tall man, around 6'7 ", dressed in jeans and with short hair.
Portuguese police are currently investigating the assault. She is trying to gather evidence from the witnesses to the scene and will be looking at the Mc Donald’s video surveillance footage to try to identify and locate the assailant.
Police believe he may be suffering from psychological problems because it appears that the act was free and for no apparent reason.
