Coronavirus: First confirmed case in Barcelona
Spain has the first confirmed case of coronavirus in the Iberian Peninsula. The Ministry of Health of the Generalitat has made a statement on the first case of coronavirus in Catalonia after those previously recorded in the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands. Meanwhile, in Italy, a woman from the north of the country who was on vacation in Palermo, on the island of Sicily, is the first case recorded in the south. In the transalpine country, seven people died and 283 were infected.
Chinese authorities have reported 71 new deaths (around 2,700 in total and nearly 78,000 people infected). In addition, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Health tested positive for the coronavirus.
